Whispers speak of a terrifying, deadly affliction that attacks only vampires. A disease that only appeared recently, but its swift lethality has already destroyed countless undead. A sickness with no cure, and one that even inhuman creatures cannot endure.

They call it the Psychoplague—it destroys the mind first.

This mental necrosis advances over several weeks, slowly draining sanity, until a sudden brain aneurysm brings death. There is no known cause, nor process of contagion. Even medical attempts to scan and examine the patient’s brain reveal nothing, until the instantaneous moment of rupture. In under a minute, the vampire dies, whimpering or screaming in indecipherable hysteria.

In between victims of the disease and strange disappearances, over half of Las Vegas’ vampiric population has vanished in 1999. Some have blamed these unnerving events on the presence of the Fourth House. Their mysteriously sudden, almost simultaneous appearance seems far too unnerving to be a mere coincidence…but no one can establish a link between them.
